Busch Offers Free Beer for Dog Adoptions

American beer company Busch is offering three months of free beer to 500 people who give a dog a home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Animal shelters across the US have had to close to the public over the last few weeks, CNN reports. However, they are still rescuing new animals and are trying to find homes for them as quickly as possible.
Busch said that during these difficult and often lonely times, people need something to make them feel better, and cute animals are perfect for that. "Social distancing is better with a furry friend by your side and a cold beer in your hand," it said.
To get the free beer, applicants have to adopt or foster a dog through Midwest Animal Rescue & Services in Minnesota before April 25. They will be given a $100 gift card to buy their beer. Busch is also giving Midwest Animal Rescue & Services $25,000 to support its work.
The Humane Society of the United States – which works to protect animals – says that there is no evidence that humans can get the coronavirus from pets. It also says that now is a great time for people to adopt or foster animals.
However, people should still think carefully before they decide to get a pet during this crisis. Tamela Terry from the Humane Society told The Guardian that she doesn't want to see animals returned because people aren't able to take care of their new pets after the crisis is over.
