Banksy Paints Rats Playing in His Bathroom

Anonymous street artist Banksy has shared pictures of rats playing in a bathroom during the coronavirus lockdown in the UK.
"My wife hates it when I work from home," he wrote on Instagram, sharing five pictures of the playing rats. Banksy, whose art often has a political meaning, has more than 8 million fans on Instagram.
Banksy often uses rats in his art, and nine of them can be seen in the new pictures. One is squeezing out toothpaste; another is running on a toilet paper roll, and another, seen in the mirror, looks like it's counting the days on the wall.
Banksy's work first became known in the 1990s, when he made spray paint art on walls and trains in his home city of Bristol in South West England. In the 2000s, his art started to be found all over the UK and in other parts of the world.
However, it is often illegal to create street art, which is why it's thought that Banksy has chosen to remain anonymous. He uses stencils for his works, which make it faster for him to paint, and he usually only says that a work of art is his long after it has been finished.
In 2018, right after a copy of one of his most famous works, Girl With Balloon, was sold for $1.4 million, half of it was cut to pieces by a shredder he had built into the frame. Girl With Balloon was first painted on a building in East London in 2002.
